Star Trek Discovery Season 2 is happening so let’s fix it for the writers

Well, despite completely bombing their first season, I guess CBS decided to throw their stolen Netflix profits into a second second of Star Trek Discovery. To that end, they released that stupid teaser about how Evil Georgiou is now in Section 31.

And then they announced Black Bolt is playing Captain Pike. So that’s cool.

You know what I find hilarious about all of this? Narratively, the first season is irrelevant. The writers did such an absolute shit job of developing the story that they actually ended up negating all of it. There are no lingering stakes, no lingering dramatic threads. Sorry, I forgot: Burnham and Sarek are going to meet Spock. Oooh. Ahhh. Yawn. What modern storytelling!
