#NoToxicFandom2019: Season 2 expectations and predictions

First some clarifications from management….

Ed. note 1: Previous posts included the hashtag #CountdownTo1701. Because CBS had been promoting it, I assumed it was an official hashtag. Turns out, someone else invented it and they got mad that I was using it “to spread hate.” I apologized to the person for the confusion and praised their passion and creativity. Then they blocked me, having said they never even read what I wrote. So, no more #CountdownTo1701 for me. Unlike some multi-billion-dollar companies out there, I respect Star Trek fans.

Ed. note 2: Speaking of, the intention of the previous two Star Trek Discovery posts was to start the year off on the right foot and reset the narrative around fan criticism around the show. It’ll be a two-part post, I said to myself, one half dispelling misconceptions and the other half grounding criticism in substantive concerns. Boy, did that not go as planned. For about 12 hours on Monday, I saw a steady stream of both effusive praise and sheer toxic hatred thrown my way on the ole twitter machine. Look, I’m not entirely sure why people take criticism of a show so personally, but I hope you all find peace in your lives. Namaste.

Something something adversaries finding common interests and becoming friends something

Ed. note 3: A lot of people read my Star Trek Discovery ramblings, and most of you like them, and for that I thank you. It’s cool…
